He also holds preeminent positions in broadcast and cable television, nationally syndicated radio and local radio as both an Emmy®-winning producer and host. He is celebrated internationally as host of the top-rated primetime talent showcase “American Idol” on Fox, serves as an executive producer and host of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” on ABC, and has a groundbreaking agreement with NBCUniversal that includes on-air broadcasting and producing duties across the NBC and E! networks.
On radio, Seacrest is host of “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” his market-topping #1 nationally syndicated LA morning drive-time radio show for Clear Channel’s 102.7 KIIS-FM, as well as the nationally-syndicated “ On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” “American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest,” and the weekday vignette “Direct from Hollywood.”
Seacrest launched Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) in 2006, which has since become an Emmy-winning television production powerhouse creating unscripted, scripted and digital programming. RSP produces the E! hit series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and spin-offs “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami” and “Khloe and Lamar.” RSP is currently producing “Married to Jonas,” “The Wanted Life” for E!, “Shahs of Sunset” on Bravo, “Montecito” for A&E, “How I Rock It” for Esquire, and “Superstar Showdown” for Telemundo. RSP is also producing “Mixology,” a new scripted series for ABC, as well as “Second Chances,” a digital series for AOL. The company also produced the Emmy Award-winning reality series “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.”
Seacrest is also an investor in media and entertainment companies: he recently made an investment in Civic Entertainment Group, a marketing services company, as well as in the new cable channel, AXS TV. He also has made investments in startups including Pinterest and FlightCar. Additionally, he has strategic partnerships with several blue-chip brands including Coca-Cola and Ford.
He is Chairman of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seriously ill and injured children through unique programs that utilize multimedia and interactive platforms. RSF is building broadcast media centers, Seacrest Studios, within hospitals for children to explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media. RSF recently opened broadcast media centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Orange County, CA and Philadelphia. Later this year, studios will open in Charlotte and Cincinnati.
In January 2013, the GRAMMY Foundation® — one of two affiliated charities of The Recording Academy® — appointed Seacrest Honorary Chair of the GRAMMY Foundation Board. The GRAMMY Foundation offers year-round music education programs for high school students and schools; and advancement, archiving and preservation, and grant-making programs to safeguard important collections and fund research at the intersection of music and science.
Originally from Atlanta, GA, Seacrest’s professional career in broadcasting began at the age of 16 when he applied for an internship at one of Atlanta’s top radio stations, WSTR-STAR 94. While working at STAR 94, he finished high school and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he majored in journalism.
Ellen K has one of the most recognizable voices in radio. She co-hosts the top-rated On Air with Ryan Seacrest, a nationally syndicated four-hour music and entertainment news program that airs Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time. The program focuses on all aspects of the entertainment industry, including highlights and interviews with top talent from the worlds of music, film and television. On Air can be heard on more than 200 stations in the U.S., including major cities such as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Phoenix and Seattle. Internationally, the program can be heard in such markets as Toronto, Vancouver, Johannesburg, Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, Beirut, Cape Town, Namibia and others.
In addition, Ellen is co-host of On Air With Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM/Los Angeles. The local morning show has been the most-listened-to program in Southern California for the last five years and consistently wins the key demo of Women 18-34.
Ellen’s career in radio began while attending Purdue University. Originally a Veterinary Science major, she took an internship at a local radio station. After one fill-in shift behind the mic, she was hooked; she switched her major to Radio/TV/Film. Over the course of the next decade, radio jobs would take Ellen from her small Indiana surroundings to San Diego, San Francisco and finally Los Angeles. There she joined the legendary Rick Dees in the Morning show for more than 10 years, and hosted the nationally syndicated Rhythm Countdown, a show that won her dozens of Marconi and Billboard Radio Awards.
Ellen has enjoyed success in television as well. She co-hosted The Wayne Brady Show, an Emmy Award-winning talk show, and worked as a correspondent for the popular entertainment news show Extra. In addition, Ellen served as a music and entertainment expert for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles and acted as correspondent for the syndicated program Real TV.
Currently, Ellen continues her daily TV work as the host of her own segment “Ellen Ks’ Inside Hollywood” on the KTLA evening news in Los Angles. Ellen also finds time to do the live VO for the Grammys on CBS, the Screen Actors Guild Awards on TBS/TNT, as well as the narration for the huge UK hit “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” and ” My Big Fat American Gypsy wedding” on TLC. Additionally, Ellen is showcased weekly as the host of velvetredtv.com, a movie and lifestyle trend setting website, and occasionally squeezes in cameos on “Keeping up with the Kardashians” and “Days of Our Lives.” In May of 2012, Ellen was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ellen resides in Los Angeles with her husband and son. When she’s not spending time with her family, Ellen can be found running, swimming or competing in triathlons for charity.
