Dees was born in Florida, raised in Greensboro and graduated from UNC.  In the mid 70’s while serving as the morning host at WHBQ Memphis, Dees recorded the # 1 novelty song “Disco Duck” which sold over 6 million copies. Rick eventually moved his show to L.A. and served as morning host at KIIS-FM for over two decades.

Dees has won countless radio awards, is a member of the Radio Hall of Fame, appeared in both TV and movies and even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Rick’s various countdown shows air across the U.S. and in 70 countries worldwide. You can hear the Rick Dees Weekly Countdown from 2 -6 p.m. every Sunday afternoon here on Star 100.9!
